Outdoor Classroom

It has been a long time coming but we are almost there. Our outdoor classroom is almost complete, just need to add some seating. Mr. Bradley & Cameron's class estimated we would need 20 cubic yards of mulch. Our Grade 4,5, & 6 students spent all of a Friday finding out. See the photo's below.

GO Sens GO!!!!

Arts Night

Thank-you to everyone who make it out for our Arts Night! We had a tremendous outpouring of support and we were thrilled to see so many of our families there. Everyone was completely blown away by the students art work. We were also fortunate to have our school Trustee Theresa Kavanagh and MP Dennis Bevington who represents the North West Territories join us. He was very impressed with students work and our fundraising efforts for Northern Neighbours. Together we raised $287, an amazing amount. Thank-you to our students, teachers, and parent community! Again we live up to our motto "Small in Size Big in Heart".

Nature Canada Video Project

This fall the students of Regina Street Public School were asked to colour a variety of pictures. These were frames to put together and animated for a Nature Canada video. The following is the animated movie "Speciesat Risk in the Ottawa NatureHood". The video also features narration from three of our own students.

The Mud Lake Project

Mr. Cameron, Mr. Bradley, Mr. Perks, and Mrs. Bruce are part of an exciting learning project. You can learn more about it here.

Town Hall

Once every two months Regina Street holds a Town Hall. This is an opportunity for the school to share what we are working on and for parents to ask questions.

OCDSB Volunteer Appreciation Reception & Community Recognition Awards

The evening of June 5th two valued members of the Regina Street community were honoured at the OCDSB's Volunteer and Community Recognition Awards.

Sheryl Brazeau, a dedicated volunteer who has been reading to our Kindergarten children for 10 years was awarded the Volunteer of the Year. Inta Zobs, who is no stranger to anyone in the Regina Street community was awarded the Community Award.

A well-deserved congratulations to both Sheryl and Inta!

Regina Street P.S.DuckWalk

A duck has been nesting at the front our school this past month. Staff and students have been waiting patiently for the eggs to hatch. Today was the day and they are on the move! We are all hopeful they can make their way safely to Mud Lake so we can enjoy future generations of our little friends.
